Install LM Studio Local server

In order to start using any AI model installed on LM Studio local server, please follow few steps for the LM Studio local server installation. 

Important! Please make sure your local server or PC meets the minimum requirements for the LM Studio local server installation.

Important! eMagicOne is not reselling and not charging for LM Studio local server usage or any local model installed on LM Studio local server. Please find LM Studio and available models at: https://lmstudio.ai/ 

Please follow few steps to complete the installation:

1. Download LM Studio from the official website: https://lmstudio.ai/  and install it.

2. On the first launch, it will prompt you to download a specific AI model. Alternatively, you can open model search and download any model you want (see model Search.png).

3. Go to the Developer tab, click Load Model, and select one of the downloaded models (see load model.png).

4. Start the local server (Start server.png).

5. Copy the server link (Copy server link.png).

6. Open Store Manager application and go to Preferences => AI

7. Paste the link into Base URL

8. Add the API version so it looks like this: http://127.0.0.1:1234/v1 

9. See base URL (see SM_base_URL.png).

10. In LM Studio, copy the model name (Copy model.png).

11. Open Store  Manager go to Preferences => AI, and paste it into the Model field (SM_Model.png).

12. If you are using API key, specify one. If you are not using API key, skip this step. API Key is not required for local models.

13. You can now use your local model with Store Manager. 

Important! Please make sure the server is running when you are connecting to your local model.

Register the LM Studio local server Plugin

In order to start using LM Studio AI models, please register the plugin.

1. Install Store Manager for PrestaShop, if needed - https://www.prestashopmanager.com/free-download/ 

2. Open Preferences (F12)

3. Go to Addons tab

4. Find Ollama/LM Studio Local server

5. Hit register application next to the plugin name

6. Register the application with your LM Studio plugin license key

Configure LM Studio plugin in Store Manager application

In order to start using AI models installed on LM Studio Local server for PrestaShop you need to connect your Store Manager application with your local server.

1. Install Store Manager for PrestaShop, if needed - https://www.prestashopmanager.com/free-download/ 

2. Configure database connection, if needed. Use the QuickStart Guide to proceed.

Important! In case you have installed product-content-generator marketplace Plugin, skip the following steps.

3. Open Preferences section (F12). You can find Preferences icon in the left bottom corner.

4. In Preferences window open AI tab and specify the following settings:

• Choose Local server Ollama/LM Studio from the list of providers

• Model - Select among available models

• API Key - Specify the API key if you use any. In most cases local server does not use any API keys, so you can skip this step.

All is set. Give it a try (choose default prompt or create your own and try to generate text with few products now).

How to use AI models running on LM Studio Local server?

In order to start using LM Studio for PrestaShop you need to Run LM Studio local server with at least one model and configure the plugin as described above.

In order to run product content generation features follow a few steps:

1. Make sure you have completed installation, configuration and registration as described above.

2. Open Sore Manager

3. Check or update your prompts. Go to AI - PromptBook. Make sure to find the prompt you need or create a new one.

4. Go to the products list and select few products that you would like to apply the prompt to

5. Use the Product content generation button on the Products Main menu.

6. In the opened window select the prompt that you have just created or updated and make sure you can see the list of products that you would like to apply it to.

7. Hit Run button to send your request to LM Studio Local server and AI model installed on it

8. Wait till the content is generated. Check for the current status in AI - Tasks queue

9. In the tasks queue you can check the results and make sure that it is valid and can be applied to products.
   No changes are applied at this stage yet.

10. In case you are satisfied with the results, use any of the actions available below 

    • Apply changes to apply changes one by one

    • Apply all to apply all changes generated by AI

    • Restart - should be used if for some reason tasks were not executed and stopped

Important! Once applied, you will not be able to undo the changes! Please review the changes carefully.
